Minimizing Program Startup Time by I/O Activity Mining

The paper I and my roommate have written during the operating system course. From my perspective, experimental results show that it’s not that effective, because almost all programs start very quickly these days. But my roommate disagrees. He says it’s an important job even if we can decreases only a few sec., because of the advancement in H/W and S/W technology related to operating systems. I think people in system field will second his opinion; they always say the field is studied too much.

Anyway, that’s it. It was an arduous job, and I had enough of it.
